How do I go about painting never-before painted metal surfaces?

Galvanised or Ferrous Metal  needs to be prepared properly before painting can commence. Firstly, check whether the surface is rusted. If so, apply Paint Master Rust Converter to the rusted area and ensure that the surface is rust free. Ensure that the surface is free of dust and dirt. Thereafter the surface can be primed with Paint Master Water Based Metal Primer before rust can form again.

New galvanised metal contains an oily residue that needs to be cleaned first with a Galvanised Cleaner before the Paint Master Water Based Metal Primer can be applied.

Any oxidation needs to be sanded down first.

The Paint Master Water Based Metal Primer needs to cure, thereafter the top coat can be applied.
